The CALS Study Abroad Office is ready to help students identify high-quality domestic and international opportunities. Our team helps identify scholarships to make these opportunities possible, while also advising and guiding students before, during, and after their trips. Additionally, we support faculty as they develop and integrate these opportunities into their curriculum. Through establishing partnerships with outside universities and international institutions, our team is always working to expand the available opportunities!
Studying abroad is a great way to develop new skills and enhance student learning through real-world experiences. The global and domestic travel programs provided by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences allow students to be exposed to new ideas, experience different cultures, and expand their professional networks.

Faculty-Led Programs
Spend fall, winter, or spring break abroad!
Travel courses are an affordable, flexible way to travel to another country and apply skills and knowledge learned in the classroom through hands-on learning! Students can travel with ISU faculty and staff members to all seven continents and participate in field visits, tours, and sightseeing during school breaks. This group travel option allows students to earn credits and gain international experience over an 8-14 day trip.
Semester Programs
Experience something more, and immerse yourself in a different culture!
Why not consider a semester abroad? For the same price or less than a semester at Iowa State, you could earn credits toward your degree while traveling the world! Through our partner universities and exchange programs, students have the opportunity to attend world-class universities and be immersed in another culture.
