This program is organized by the College of Liberal Arts & Science Study Abroad Office. All questions should be directed to lasstudyabroad@iastate.edu 

This study abroad program will offer a deeper insight into understanding smallholder women’s struggles to cope with culture, climate change, and market accessibility in advancing micro-entrepreneurship activities in the rural hills and mountains of eastern Nepal. Students will also learn the significant role girls and women play in securing their families' livelihoods. Additionally, students will have a once-in-a-lifetime trekking experience in the mountains and see Mt. Everest and the Kanchenjunga range from Sandakpur, Ilam.  

3 credits of Soc 4960 during the spring 2026 semester
