My biggest advice for students interested in studying abroad is money comes back but memories and lessons do not. If you get the chance and have the means, just do it because you won't regret it!

Why did you choose to participate in the study abroad program(s)?

I chose to participate in the study abroad program for a few reasons. First, I wanted to expand my global agricultural knowledge to see how American practices compare and contrast to those of Europe. Second, I wanted to explore a new culture and meet new people. Third, I wanted to travel to bucket-list items throughout Greece and Europe.Carson Ruen and friends

In what ways did this experience contribute to your personal, professional, and/or academic growth?

This experience contributed to growth in all areas of my life. Personally, I was able to become more independent in my decision-making and learn more about myself in general. Professionally, I was able to make new connections and gain knowledge from coursework that I will carry with me throughout the rest of my career. Finally, academically, I learned about subjects like viticulture and olive production that I wouldn't have otherwise, contributing to a more holistic view of agriculture.

What was your most memorable experience abroad?

I had several memorable experiences. My most memorable experience was getting the chance to explore Athens, where we visited historical sights like the Acropolis and Panathenaic Stadium.

Did you experience any challenges while studying abroad?

One challenge I experienced while studying abroad was the time difference, which was annoying for communication purposes. Otherwise, common things like home or diet fortunately didn't affect me too much.

Did scholarships impact your decision to study abroad?
