Why did you choose to participate in your study abroad program? I had never traveled abroad before, so I wanted to go somewhere new. The trips both sounded exciting and informative. It's also really nice that the trips have a day-by-day itinerary, so you don't have to stress about planning. Overall, a lot of moving pieces came together well, and the trips both fit my academic goals, so I decided to apply!
Do you think your experience benefited you personally, professionally, or academically? I think the trip benefited me in all aspects of my life. I expanded my mindset, learned more about global issues, and got to meet lots of great people! Not only that, but studying abroad is a great talking point and an awesome experience to add to your resume.
Most memorable experience? After visiting Neuschwanstein Castle, we got stuck waiting for the bus because of road construction in the area. We waited for so long, we contemplated walking to the next bus stop, which was two miles away. It's safe to say that we learned a lot about each other and honed our problem-solving skills that day!
What advice would you give to students interested in studying abroad? Just do it! Right now, you're in a really unique situation where you can take out loans or get scholarships for traveling. Take the chance while you can and apply for all the trips that interest you! I've never heard anyone say they didn't have an amazing time on their study abroad trip.
